Facebook got in the way of my blogging

Well it looks like I took @ 2 year hiatus from blogging. In that time I kicked my photography business into high gear and got married.
With all that I have going on I felt the need to share it here again. Not everyone is on Facebook and I didn't want any of my clients to feel left out.

Just today I became an approved and registered photographer with www.oplove.org I am very excited to have this opportunity to be a part of our military community once again. I loved my stint as a Navy Wife and having lived through many deployments and homecomings, know about the emotional highs and lows that they offer. I pray that I will be able to capture all of the special details in my images and allow the service member and their family to concentrate on each other.

Trash to Treasure

I can't believe I lost my before pics of this new sign. Use your imagination and picture a Mail Pouch barn in the far right. A bridge over a babbling brook with several horses partaking in its refreshment and a duster clad cowboy tending to his horse on the far left.
It was the size of the stretched canvas and raw wood frame that caught my eye. I had been wanting to make a sign for our backyard resort so aptly named "Porcha Mi Yarda" during our "Staycation".

Some primer, some spray paint and letters cut with my digital diecutter as a stencil for the words that I painted on that very large canvas. I used the ttf Black Jack. One of my favorite scripts because it welds togheter so nicely.

The sign was "donated" to my worthy cause by my neighbor Betsy during her recent
yard sale. I sent my scout over to see the price before going over to purchase it. I was quite shocked to see my bargain scout return with the sign telling me that Betsy just wanted it out of her driveway. My daughter knows me oh so well and already knew what my plans were before I told her. Got to love that mother-daughter bond when it comes to yardsaling and repurposing. My 13 yr old daughter is coming along nicely in her training.

The picnic table and bench you see below the sign was a found item. Found behind an overgrown forsythia bush in our backyard. I have seen the other bench at the neighbor's house....so I am not sure what belongs to who....but I am probably going to go and ask them if I can have it. I have a nice collection of items their teen grandsons have thrown over the fence and I am sure it will be an easy trade.
The Ralph Lauren paint I used on the picnic table is just the prettiest shade. I can't say enough good things about the pigments and coverage of this paint. Thanks Remodeling Guy for your review.

Chalkboard Party

This was going to be the object I converted into a chalkboard but got delayed due to the window being left out in the rain and a critter then knocking it over and breaking the glass.

It is still going to get overhauled into a chalkboard, just not in time for the party.

On to Plan B

I have saved these containers knowing they were a good size for something. I spray painted the lids with Chalkboard Spray Paint and then painted the bottoms....instant unique gift wrap.

Blogging Part Deux

While I loved my first little blog..http://dolfinlvr65.blogspot.com/...I started to ignore it and during that time my creative endeavors evolved. I needed a way to tie my new love of frugal decorating, blog surfing, scrapbooking, altered art, sewing, baking, photography and any new thing I think I need to try/master together.

So here we have it.

Ok, the truth is my old blog used an email address that I no longer use and I couldn't figure out (didn't take the time) if I could marry up that blog with a new email. It was just easier to start over.

Some of my IRL (in real life) friends think I spend too much time on the internet. I see it as a way to expand my circle of friends and feed my need to be inspired by kindered spirits. Through blogs, facebook, myspace and email I am able to grow many friendships and not have it cut into my family time. How awesome is it to have cyber friends all over the world that share the same interests?
Honestly, I don't know how they all survive without the internet.

Time for more coffee!
